  • Niall Walsh

    Leisure Club Manager

    Involved in many various sports all his life, it was a natural progression for Niall to move into a career in health and fitness. Having worked in and managed a number of gyms and other leisure facilities, Niall joined the Clayton as the Leisure Club,  Spa and Kids Club manager when the hotel opened in 2005. Along with business management and leisure qualifications, Niall is also a qualified instructor, multi sports coach, pool plant operator and manual handling trainer.

  • Adam McLoughlin

    Leisure Club Assistant Manager

    Adam’s sporting background would mainly have involved soccer, being at one stage on the books of Sligo Rovers. Adam has been an integral part of the team at Club Vitae since the facility opened in 2005. A qualified gym instructor, lifeguard and RLSS lifeguard trainer, Adam also has qualifications in spin, pilates, swim teaching, disability coaching, and pool plant operators among many other things.

  • Stephen Travers

    Club Vitae Instructor

    Stephen qualified with a BSc in Sport Science & Health from DCU, and also a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Performance from UL.

    Along with also being a certified spinning instructor and RLSS pool lifeguard, Stephen has over 10 years experience in various sports as a strength and conditioning coach, with past work involving Dublin GAA development squads, Louth Senior Gaelic Footballers, Weightlifting Ireland and the Irish Hockey Association.

    Stephen is currently involved in football coaching and performance analysis with Sligo-Leitrim Youths, Sligo Rovers FC and the FAI.

  • Carina Catilao

    Club Vitae Instructor

    Carina joined the team in Club Vitae in October 2018. Originally from Argentina, Carina was an Olympic handball player from an early age and has competed in Argentina’s national first division. Always interested in sports, she moved to Spain and developed her professional career further over the next 15 years, developing as a Swimming Coach, Personal Trainer, Pilates Instructor, Spin and Aqua Aerobics Instructor amongst others. She also enjoys taking part in outdoor sports, yoga and is very passionate about healthy lifestyle.

  • Mary Clarke

    Club Vitae Instructor

    Mary joined the team at the Clayton Hotel in 2014, initially working solely in the Kids Club. Mary is qualified in Childcare, and has a particular interest in helping and working with people with additional needs. Indeed it was Mary who initially came up with the idea for a sensory room, and this lead to the Clayton Hotel Sligo becoming the first hotel in Ireland to open a sensory room specifically for our guests. Mary is now our Kids Club Supervisor, and is also a qualified lifeguard recently becoming an important part of the team here in Club Vitae.

  • Christopher O Brien

    Club Vitae Instructor

    Christopher joined our Club Vitae team at the age of 16 in June 2016 after completing his RLSS Lifeguard Qualification. From a young age he has always had a passion for many sports such as competitive swimming and running, hiking with scouts, and recently taekwondo. Christopher has competed in many taekwondo competitions around Ireland and following his success at trials in Nottingham for the Student National Team, he will now be competing for Ireland on the International stage. Along with his studies in NUIG, he also has a wide range of interests that include first aid, sports science, airsoft, orienteering and bee-keeping just to name a few.

  • Joseph Earley

    Club Vitae Instructor

    Joe is an avid hurler and is a very active member of our Club Vitae team since June 2016. He is a qualified fitness instructor and lifeguard, and is currently furthering his training to become a Personal Trainer. Always willing to help and with a smile on his face, Joe really enjoys helping people to set and reach their goals.

  • Grace Kenny

    Club Vitae Instructor

    Grace has always been involved in sports, such as swimming, hockey and horse-riding from a young age. Part of the team at Club Vitae since 2011, Grace is qualified as both a fitness instructor/lifeguard and as a Spa Therapist, and has worked in our Essence Spa at times. Always looking to further her training, Grace is also a qualified RLSS lifeguard trainer, strength and conditioning coach, swim teacher and pool plant operator among many others.

  • Michelle Spain

    Club Vitae Instructor

    Michelle has been involved in many different sports from a young age such as basketball, football, gymnastics and kickboxing. She qualified as a fitness instructor/group instructor in Galway and also as a personal trainer with a big interest in weight training. Michelle is also a qualified boxfit instructor, and has further qualifications in studio cycle, step aerobics and kettle bells. More recently Michelle has added a National Pool Lifeguard cert through RLSS and is looking to add swim teaching to her CV next
